I've been studying for history paper 1 since just now...and upon my research for the Italian Unification, i found this and find it quite good a quote(s) to put it here and share it with you.

Lessons for the epoch of Italian Unification, 1858-71:

From Napoleon III of France

Be careful what you begin in an effort to look like someone you are not. You may not be able to stop what you start when it goes in a direction you did not foresee.

From Franz-Joseph of Austria
Bigger isn’t always better. If you measure your greatness by your size, in time you may end up neither great nor large.

From Vitorio Emanuele II
Successful leadership is often more about the people who work for you than the way you work for yourself.

Not everything can be planned ahead; sometimes you just need a little luck to be in the right place at the right time.

From Pope Pius IX
If you are going to call yourself pious then express piety

If you decide to support a righteous cause, support it because you believe in it, because it is the right thing, not because of what you think it will bring to you.

From Benzo Camillo Cavour[brains of the unification]
If you are powerless to get an essential job done, put the idea in the heads of those who can and let them think it is their accomplishment.

You may think you are infallible, but none of us are right all of the time, especially on matters of faith.

From Giuseppe Garibaldi [sword of unification]
If you truly believe in the rightness of your cause, even serious disappointments should not turn you away from you goal.

But don’t wear yourself out banging your head into a brick wall. Learn to listen, and watch, and wait until the time is perfect to strike where your effort will have the greatest effect.

If you cause a big enough distraction and make enough noise, sometimes you can get other people to forget about their goals and grab on to yours.
