On tuesday, i watched the Arena. Well, from the very beginning, when the first speaker speaks, i already knew that United World College will win. People always think that first speaker is not important. To me, i think they are the most important one. They will be those who direct where the debate will be heading, and they have to be the one who steer the wheel towards the direction they are heading, not the opposite. However, i guess that one team in the process of it has become "arrogant", thus creating the result that they have. Not that i'm biased, but even the judges said it similarly, but with different diction.
Yesterday was CCA Open House. I'm so glad that concert band so far has got the most number of sign-ups, even with a high criteria. Thanks to God for this.
After paying for the present today, i'm totally left with zero dollars in my wallet. Totally zero. Not even with a single cent in my wallet. So, how am i going to survive? Many people would ask their parents for money, but i won't. They have already given me my allowance. Right now, this is my problem. It is up to me to solve it on my own. I want to become independent, not dependent. I want to give to others, not take from others. Many of my friends would always tell me or seek my advice in buying things but they will always say something like this, "i will ask my mum/dad to pay on my behalf first, then i will pay them back." Do you really pay them back? Will you be punctual to pay them back? For example, lets say you buy a car or something that requires you to pay by installment. Would you be punctual enough to pay for the car when the bill comes? Or would you ask your parents to pay for you first then you pay them back few weeks later, or few months later, or few years later, or for some, pretend that you have forgotten about it knowing that your parents would pay for you? Honor your parents not only means treating them well. Dont take advantage of the fact that your parents love you and care for you which makes them give everything you want to you. Dont be demanding.

Remember the story of Jephthah in the bible? Recently, i remember something about this story. It is about promises. The importance of promises, and the fulfillment of promises.
Remember the story of Eve? She followed her desires, and did not check with God whether what she did is what He wants her to do. She focuses on what she do not have. How often do we focus ourself on what we dont have than what we much possess? We always get that I've-got-to-have-it feeling. Through this, we open ourselves to envy, greed, and all kinds of selfish behavior in order to satisfy our longings. When we satisfy all our impulses, we find that it is hollow and vanish quickly. God has already given us all we need to be happy. Why do you waste your time pursuing something that is second-rated?
